The Reds Are Running
They just say HOME to me.
Honestly, I'm not sure if it's an old wives tale or the truth but growing up in Alaska we always knew that when the fireweed was in bloom then the red salmon (sockeye) were running in the Kenai River and it was time to head out to my Uncles cabin for some AMAZING fishing!
Fireweed brings back those Alaskan summertime feels.
This is an original batik created through a wax resist and hand painted cold water dye process on 100% unbleached cotton & stretched over a solid wood frame (thankfully made by my oh so talented husband).
This beauty measures in at 11.5″ x 42″ & can be easily hung from a heavy duty wire that is installed in the solid wood frame.
